Secondhand Stories was an interdisciplinary Art-English project created in collaboration with 12th grade students during the spring semester of 2016. The students visited Serving Seniors, a senior center in downtown San Diego every week and shared conversations, memories, and stories. In English class with Kelly Williams, the students learned the art of storytelling by writing literary narratives based on these weekly visits. In art class, the students created intaglio prints to illustrate their stories. These prints were animated in a style inspired by contemporary artist, Kakyoung Lee. The full compilation of student writing and artwork is available in paperback here.
